Treasure hunt on the rise

Eight treasure hunting cases have been reported from different parts of the Kurunegala District during the last two months.

The ninth case was reported from Sirisethagama village from Kotawehera police area in Kurunegala and two persons who attempted to unearth a treasure in a private estate, were arrested by a Police team headed by Kotavehera Police Station OIC IP Dharmadasa.

The suspects produced before Nikaweratiya Magistrate were remanded.
