All MPs must be present in Parliament on May 31
Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa invited all Government and Opposition
members to be present in Parliament on May 31, as Thailand's Prime
Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to address the Sri Lankan
Parliament.
On behalf of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody make
this announcement yesterday in Parliament.
He said that Prime Minister Shinawatra is to arrive in Parliament at
2.45 pm on May 31, to address Parliament on the invitation of Speaker
Rajapaksa. He said special security arrangements would be in place in
and around Parliament. He said special security checks too would be
conducted in the entire Parliament premises, including MPs restrooms and
wardrobes on May 30 and 31. He said the public gallery would be open
only to invitees.
He further said a special traffic plan would be put in force on this
day, adding that the Parliament vehicle park would be closed on this
day.
