Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga’s father dies

Retired Grama Niladhari Wilbert Weeratunga has expired and he will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 25 at the Public cemetery at

Thalapathpitiya. Late Weeratunga was the husband of late Nanda Samarasinghe Dissanayake, an aunt of the President and his brothers and sisters and father of Sri Lanka Ambassador for Russia Udayanga Weeratunga, Kamani Weeratunga, Dhayani Weeratunga of ETF and Dayani Weeratunga domiciled in USA.

He was also the father-in-law of H. B. A. Nayanananda (Chief Engineer - Tangalle Road Development Authority), Uma Mannapperuma Weeratunga, Tony Perera (Businessman, USA) and late Jayalath Wickremage, (Provincial Secretariat- Rajagiriya) His remains are lying at No 179/ A, Embuldeniya, Thalapathpitiya.
