Unilever Domex 'Active Green formula' launched
Unilever re-launched number one toilet cleaner brand, Domex, with
"Active Green formula" in March 2013. Sodium Hypochlorite, which is
commonly known as bleach, is the key ingredient of Domex especially
designed to kill germs.
"Domex is designed for consumers, who care about their homes and
families and want to provide them with an immaculate environment that is
safe, clean and disease free "says Dulanganee Matugama, Assistant Brand
Manager, Domex. "The product has a big responsibility to deliver on its
promises and we are always looking at ways to improve its performance".
"The new Active Green formula enables consumers to monitor exactly
how much liquid they are using - thus making Domex easier to use"
explains Chrishantha Perera, Development Manager Home, Personal Care and
Water, Unilever Sri Lanka.
Based on a study done by Mendez and Leach, the alarming reality is
that as many as 189 different varieties of germs breed in a toilet which
is otherwise visibly clean and odourless. "Germs are invisible to the
naked eye and they breed rapidly - going from two to a million in a
matter of hours" says Dulanganee. "Domex destroys all germs - that
includes germ spores, fungi, viruses and E.coli". According to
Chrishantha "This is where formulation becomes so important. Many toilet
cleaners in the market will make your toilet look clean. However, unlike
other locally available toilet cleaners, Domex's bleach based
formulation provides consumers a cutting edge solution to keep their
toilets germ free". It is interesting to note that the World Health
Organisation (WHO) has endorsed the use of bleach based disinfectants to
help control the spread of diseases that are liable to cause epidemics.
