It was a good win for Java Lane to have shoot down Air Force in their first game. There were big crowds at all venues and the much fancied clubs will definitely have to face the challenges thrown by the new comers who has justified their invitation to play in the countries most popular and competitive League –Dialog Champions League. This was evident when Pelicans from Kurunegala who led 1-0 till 3rd quarter of the game settled for 1-1 draw with the former champs and star studded Kotahena outfit Renown. Same feet was recorded by new comers Colombo FC who gave a torrid time to last years Champion of Champions to make a scoreless.

Had Rowmi,s long range banana shot gone inside with just couple of inches, the game would have been the Colombo FC’ s way.. In Negombo too New comers and Cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya’s club Matara YSC almost beat one time champs Negombo Youth but the Negombo youth equalized in the dying 83rd minute of the game to make it 1-1 at the final whistle.

Blue Star had it easy against unsettled Super Sun who beat them 4-0 at Kalutara. They led 3-0 at half time but the Beruwala boys conceded only 1 goal after lemons. So the new comers here will have to learn the art to meet the challenges early to avoid been disappointed.
