Seenigama Devale robbed

The famous Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa was burgled, and nearly Rs 500,000 kept in a temple room stolen, the temple's Trustee stated in a complaint lodged with Meetiyagoda Police yesterday.

The day's collection of the temple in the tills were stolen by the thieves. Buddhist Affairs Department officials told investigating police officers that it was impossible to have over Rs 200,000 at the temple as a day's collection .

No arrests have been made.

Meetiyagoda Police are investigating.
