Etisalat partners with global emergency medical services company Falck

Leading Mobile Telecommunications Company Etisalat Lanka and Falck, the world's largest emergency medical service provider announced a partnership that will give access to the Telco's customer base to emergency medical treatment.


An agreement was signed between Etisalat Lanka, Director/ CEO, Dumindra Ratnayaka and Med1 (Pvt) Limited, Managing Director, Donnie Woodyard, Jr. Also present at the occasion were (standing from left) Chief Operations Officer of Med1 (Pvt) Limited, Brigadier (retired) L. C. Perera, Board of Advisers Member Med1 (Pvt) Limited, Govinda Tidball, Board of Advisers Member of Med1 (Pvt) Limited, Susantha Pinto, Etisalat Lanka Head of Digital Services and Corporate Solutions, Channa Munasinghe and Etisalat Lanka Assistant Manager New Business Development Services, Daminda Edirisinghe.”

Adding to its growing customer-centric service offering Etisalat enabled its customers to receive first aid advice through Falck'semergency medical help line 1990 earlier this year. The partnership with Falck will further advanced the company's mobile health services.

The agreement will allow the Etisalat customer base to register for Falck membership through the telco. A customer can type "REG" and SMS to 1-9-9-0 to instantly register for Falck services. The system introduced by Falck under this partnership is a first in world mobile health and emergency medical services. It innovatively combines an easy to use micro payment gateway onto a mobile phone operating platform, making high quality medical care both affordable and accessible to Sri Lankans.
