Kaudane Piyadasa is no more

Kaudane Piyadasa Perera, one time Silumina editor, expired on April 21st, and wll be cremated today at the General cemetery, Borella.

He was a well known poet of his time and used to write to Lake House Newspapers before he joined as a staff member of the Dinamina editorial.

He was assigned to report on the education department and he carried his duties faithfully. In 1989, he assumed duties as the editor of the Silumina weekly. He served the media with dedication to give the best to readers.

That was the time when Ranasinghe Premadasa was serving the nation as the Second Executive President.

It was during his editorship, the Silumina reached 60th year. He organized celebrations to mark the event at the Elphinstone Theatre, Maradana, Colombo.

Poets had a special place in the Silumina during his editorship. He later served Lake House Sinhala weeklies as a consultant for some time. He was a father of three. He was under medication for some time and was close to celebrating his 72nd birthday on May 11.
