M. C. A. Hassan dies
M. C. A. Hassan (81) former Editor of the now defunct Senate passed
away on Thursday in Auckland New Zealand.
MP A. H. M. Azwer, states that Hassan had a deep knowledge of Islamic
subjects and was also an author of many books on various religious and
social topics. He was also a founder member of the "Shabab-ul-Islam"
founded by the famous Islamic Scholar, Dr. said Ramadhan of the Egyptian
Brotherhood fame.
He also gained popularity by delivering Khuthba sermons in the
Mosques in New Zealand.
Haji Hassan was also involved in Thariqua activities and was also
associated with Aroosia Movement, guided by its spiritual Leader, Dr.
Allama Shuaib Thaika Sahib of Kilakare. He was also a follower of the
Sheikh of Halquathul Qadiriya of South Africa.
Brother Haji Hassana also was a regular contributor to the Muslim
Readers Digest and Voice of Islam in South Africa, and earlier to the
Islamic Review of Working Mosque England.
He was also a regular contributor of Islamic Religious Talks in the
Ceylon Broadcasting Corporation. His transcripts of religious lectures
by scholars like Moulana, Moulavi Fazlur-Rahman Anzair (Al-Quadiri) are
preserved in the publication of the Moors' Islamic Cultural Home.
He leaves his wife and four children. His Janaza will take place in
Auckland on Friday, April 19 before Jummah Prayers in Auckland. |
