GOH April culinary delights

The Grand Oriental Hotel is starting the Avurudu Festive Season with its food and beverage promotions for the month of April with excitement.

The Submarine Promotion in March was a great success and due to popular demand the management has decided to continue the Submarine Invasion together with a Juicy Hot Dog Promotion this month as well Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.

There will be a Avurudu Sweetmeat Hut of traditional sweetmeats like Kokis, Konda Kewum, Baby Aasmi ,Mung Kewum and many more from April 8 until the 12 from 8.30am to 5pm.

The GOH also plans to go big with all ongoing promotions during the month of April at the Dazzling Harbour Room and the Sri Lankan Restaurant. Sweets to savour from western to eastern are geared up to give the best gourmet dishes any time the day.

The Harbour room welcomes diners for their breakfast spread from 6.30am to 10am followed by an executive lunch buffet with some smooth piano music from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. there is the A-la-carte menu for guests to pick and choose their favourite dishes from Sunday to Wednesday 7.30pm onwards or try the Mongolian night every Thursday 7.30pm onwards with live music to keep the night alive.

To guests who want to go all International can try the international buffet every Friday with music by Gamani Mendis. Then there is the Taprobane Mixed Grill every Sunday all set with succulent meat, sizzlers and grills along with Sam the Man to keep everyone entertained.

If guests want to take their family out for dinner then they can do so at the family buffet spread at the Harbour room every Saturday with an amazing view of the harvour and feel good music from Gamani Mendis.

Otherwise guests can chill out with their friends after work and head on to the happy hour from 7pm with a 10 percent discount.

Moving on to the Sri Lankan restaurant guest can experience the Shoppers lunch buffet from Monday to Saturday from 12.30 to 3.30pmn and try the Sri Lankan night with local cuisines such as Hoppers and Kottu from 7.30pm with Calypso music. There is also the Happy Hour with a 15% discount everyday from 5pm to 6pm.

For everyone who looks for a chilling change of dining, the Hopper Night every Saturday and Sunday from 7.30pm at the York Street will be the best where guests can indulge in Hoppers, Kottu and thosai or wade.

At the Tiffin Hut for the ones in a hurry can grab some short eats, Lunch packets, Cakes and Snacks between 7am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) till 1.30pm on Saturdays.

The B 52 Night Club in town keeps all awake till the break of dawn with live DJ Music and C&C playing every Saturday with special beverage promotions every Thursday to Sunday from 8.30pm onwards.

The Stallion Pub gives the night goers a chance to get together with colleagues for any meeting or a quick chit chat. The pub is opened every Thursday to Sunday (except Poya Days) from 8.30pm onwards.

All diners of Harbour Room will be entitled for a remarkable 20% discount at the B52 Night Club and the Stallion Pub.
