Premier League approves goal-line technology
The Premier League announced a historic decision
to sanction the use of goal-line technology in the English top
flight from the 2013-14 season onwards, in a global first for a
domestic competition.

Chelsea-Basel, Benfica-Fenerbahce in Europa League semis
English Premiership giants Chelsea and
traditional European powerhouse Benfica were on Friday both drawn
against smaller opposition for the semi-finals of the Europa League.
The draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, saw the
Londoners draw Swiss outfit Basel while the Portuguese will take on
Fenerbahce of Turkey.

Vijaya, Seetha Devi and Pushpadana hockey champs
Vijaya College, Matale emerged champions among
boys schools while Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy and
Pushpadana Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy emerged joint champions at the
All Island Seven-a-side Hockey Tournament organised by Seetha Devi
Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy for the nineteenth year in succession. This
two day All Island tournament was held on 6th and 7th April at the
Trinity College grounds.
