Central Province in 110 run win

Central Province scored an easy 110 run win over Uva Province in their women’s Twenty20 Cricket Tournament match organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket and played at Police grounds, Kandy yesterday.

Batting first Central Province made 131 for 7 in their 20 overs Malushika Mettananda top scored with 33 supported by Dinusha Hendeniya 29.

When Uva Province batted they ran into an early storm with wickets falling at regular intervals with many of the batswoman registering ducks.

Uva Province could total only 21 runs with the highest contributor being extras with 10. They faced only 10 overs before the last batswoman was dismissed.

Central Province bowlers wrought havoc Thajani Senaviratne took 3 for 4, Thakshila Dayaratne 3 for 2 and Madhushika Senaviratne 2 for 2 to row the Uva ladies.

Central Province 131 for 7 in 20 overs (Harshani Wijeratne 27, Dinusha Hendeniya 27, Malushika Mettananda 33, Harshani Swarnamali 3 for 20).

Uva Province 21 all out in 10 overs (Extras 11, Thajani Senaviratne 3 for 4, Malushika Mettananda 2 for 2, Madushika Dayaratne 3 for 2).
