With the help of wicket-keeper batsman Kaushal Silva’s magnificent
batting performance throughout the season and in the final match, SSC
clinched the 2013 Premier League Championship beating Moors Sports Club
by six wickets in the season ending Sri Lanka’s domestic final at SSC on
Monday.
Kaushal Silva, who scored 171 runs in the home team’s first innings
and followed it up with a brilliant 88-knock and helped SSC to reach the
262-run target with ease, ending this season, scoring 1,073 runs, the
first and only batsman, who surpassed the magical 1,000-run mark.
Right handed Silva (26) made five centuries and three fifties with an
average of 89.41 in 13 innings during the 10-match Premier League
Tournament.
