Mohan V. Raman to conduct Workshop
One of the most popular movie personalities from India, Mohan V.
Raman, will be in Colombo to conduct one of his signature CineManage
workshops, using the world of movies to increase managerial
effectiveness. CineManage will be a full day workshop to be held on May
7, at Hotel Renuka.
Cinema is a very powerful medium and has the capacity to influence
people. The power of this medium is evident from the influence it has
had on the social fabric of this country.
Indeed, the world, as we have had Ronald Reagan, a movie star holding
the most powerful office in the world.
Management schools often use films like the classic 12 Angry Men
starring Henry Ford to explain objection handling, conflict resolution,
group behaviour, and creative thinking.
Other films that are often cited for lessons include Apollo 13, The
Hunt for Red October, Glengarry Glen Ross, Remember the Titans, Wall
Street, Hoosiers, Miracle, and Chariot of Fire, to name a few.
Mohan V. Raman has a B.Sc. in Physics from Loyola College, Chennai
and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, one of India's premiere Management
Schools specializing in Marketing and Human Relations. After a stint in
the corporate sector, he entered the entertainment industry in 1991.
Today, Raman is one of film and television's most popular character
actors. CineManage is organized by Hummingbird International, a regional
knowledge house specializing in coaching, consulting and outsourcing.
Hummingbird International is joined by Q&E as the advertising and
communications consultant for CineManage. Hummingbird International and
Q&E have previously worked together on promoting the Shape the World
Initiative held in Colombo.
