Rata Nagana Nil Rella gathers momentum

The Rata Nagana Nil Rella , the reorganization programme of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) shows a huge progress within a single week due to its launch in a successful manner from its’ primary level, Economic Development Minister and SLFP National Organizer Basil Rajapaksa said.

“Rata Nagana Nil Rella” was initiated with the aim of increasing the number of SLFP members by one million. But at present it hd increased to over two million, he added.

“Increasing the number of SLFP members would not be enough to reorganize the party. President Mahinda Rajapaksa also wants to make an attitudinal development in SLFP membership and it will be a great support for the SLFP to be in the governing party continuously,” the minister said. Rajapaksa was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the two day in house workshop held for SLFP members in the Eheliyagoda electorate organized under the directions of Power and Energy Minister and Eheliyagoda Organizer Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

“This is the first workshop conducted for SLFP members at electorate level and this would be a great assistance for an attitudinal development among party members.

All arrangements were in place to enforce the SLFP via establishing Women and Youth Organisations, SLFP branch associations and District Organizations under the “Rata Nagana Nil Rella,” Minister Rajapaksa said.

Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council chairman Kanchana Jayaratne, Presidential Spokesman and Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Chairman Mohan Samaranayake, Colombo University Political Science and Policy Education Department’s Senior Lecturer and Economic Development Ministry Director General Dhamma Dissanayake, Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) Chairman Prof. Ranjith Bandara, Lecturer R. M. Wijeratne, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Bureau and Tourism Development Authority’s Chairman Bhashwara Senanka Gunaratne, Sri Lanka Investors Commission Chairman Deepal Sooriyarachchi and National Education Institute Director Sudath Samarasinghe and a large number of SLFP members were present.
