Lanka on fast track towards development – WDJ

Sri Lanka is on a fast track towards development. Provincial administrators have to play a vital role in the development procedure launched by the government under the guidance of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Public Administrations and Home Affairs Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne said.

Provincial public administrators deal directly with the public. All government employees attached to the provincial and divisional administrative service should be more effective and efficient, he said.

The minister said so while participating in an inspection tour of the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat Office and Divisional Secretariat Offices. Seneviratne inspected seven Divisional Secretariat Offices in Elahera, Hingurakgoda, Lankapura, Medirigiriya, Thamankaduwa, Welikanda and Dimbulagala. Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena, Public Administration and Home Affairs Deputy Minister Wijaya Dahanayake, Ministry Secretary P.B.Abeykoon, Additional Secretary J.Dadallage, Polonnaruwa District Secretary Nimal Abeysiri and Additional Secretary Pabaseeli Jayalath were also present.
