Self employment projects

In line with Deyata Kirula 2013, the government’s national
development drive, 500 widowers in the Akkarepattuwa Secretariat
Division have been provided financial assistance by the Child
Development and Women’s Affairs Ministry to commence self employment
projects.
The official ceremony was held at Akkarepattu Town Council auditorium
recently under the patronage of Child Development and Women’s Affairs
Minister Tissa Karalliyadda.
Under this project 63 women were offered instruments and peripherals,
which worth Rs 1.3 million for commencing self employment. “This self
employment programme has been introduced in many districts by the
Ministry to help widowers face the challenges in life, while improving
their economic status” Minister Karalliyadda said. |
