Differently- abled university entrant felicitated

Sabaragamauwa Chief Minister Maheepala Herath felicitated Thilini
Nimesha Jayathilaka, a student of Ambanpitiya Special School who
qualified for university admission despite having no hands or legs.
The Chief Minister was the chief guest at the ceremony held at the
school premises attended by colleagues, teachers, parents and well
wishers.
She managed to enter university by providing verbal answers and
passed the GCE A/Ls with high results.
Also, the Chief Minister felicitated Adhitya Bandara, another student
of the same school who secured the best results at Grade five
scholarship examination.
He is also in a wheelchair.
The Ambanpitiya Special School is home to a number of differently-
abled students.
Thilini Nimesha undertook her eduction in the listening and verbal
answering studies section.
The Chief Minister said: "The first day I met Nimesha after her
success at GCE A/L examination, she asked me to help differently- abled
students to showcase their potential and come forward by challenging
their fate."
"Nimesha is special as this type of students are rare in our society.
When I asked whether I could do anything for her, her response surprised
me," he said.
"She did not ask for personnel favours. Instead she begged me to help
students in her capacity and help them challenge their fate.
"I was delighted with her response. Her qualities helped her to
achieve this success," he said.
