Ven Dodampahala Chandrasiri Maha Thera:
All-island Priests' Council new Chairman

Incumbent Venerable Dodampahala Chandrasiri Maha Thera was unanimously
elected for the post of chairman of All-island Priests' Council of the
Amarapura Sect at the assembly of the All Buddhist Monks of the
Amarapura Sect held at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agricultural Research
Centre.
The selection was done in the presence of Buddhist monks attached to
the Amarapura Sect with the consent of 154 monks of 22 sectors.
Ven Dodampahala Chandrasiri Maha Thera was ordained in 1950 at
Valukaramaya Temple in Kudawelle, Matara and attended the Monastic
colleges, Veeramba and Vidyaloka in Matara and Galle districts.
Being a kindhearted philanthropist, he actively extended his support
for the Maharagama cancer hospital, Victoria Disabled Home and to
internally displaced persons of the North.
