Theagarajah to retire from HNB

Rajendra Theagarajah, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Hatton National Bank Plc will be retiring form the services of the Bank with effect from June 30 having reached the age of retirement.

He will also be resigning from the Board of Hatton National Bank PLC with effect from the said date. Jonathan Alles currently serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer will assume responsibilities as the Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of Theagarajah and will be appointed to the Board with effect from July 1, 2013. This would be subject to the approval of Director of Bank supervision of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Jonathan Alles takes over as CEO of HNB, having well over 25 years of banking experience.
