Cattle saved from slaughter given to Milk Farmers’ Assn

Thirty-three head of cattle, saved from slaughter, were distributed among 26 families at a function at Kirigalahena Primary College, Horana recently.

The ceremony was held on the initiative of Good Governance and Infrastructure Facilities Senior Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka. The cattle costing Rs 1.5 million was financed by the Society of Redemption of Cattle from Slaughter Wattalpola, Panadura.

This was organised by the society for the 21th time. The society has released 417 cattle upto date. The saved cattle are distributed among members of the Milk Farmers’ Association in Kirigalahena.

Kalutara district parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayaka and Horana Pradeshiya Sabha vice chairman Ashoka Ranatunga were also present.
