Gurukula beat formidable Joes

Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya reigned supreme by trouncing formidable
and more fancied St. Joseph’s College, Colombo by six wickets in their
inter-school under 19 limited over pre-quarter final match played at
Prisons’ Grounds, Mahara. St. Joseph’s batting first were skittled out
for a paltry 70 runs in 30.4 overs with Dilan Fernandopulle making the
top score of 18 runs. Namal Pathum claimed 3 for 10 for the homesters.
In reply Gurukula showed their supremacy throughout the encounter and
surpassed the opponents score with ease and at the end they were 71 for
4 in 23.3 overs with Lisula Lakshan and Nalin Perera scoring 21 and 20
runs respectively. Fabian Fernando captured 2 for 20 for Joes.
