Hashen steers Moratuwa SC

Hashen Ramanayake playing in his first ever game in club cricket scored an elegant 101 runs which included seven fours and one six and facing 138 balls and occupying the crease for 170 minutes guided Moratuwa Sports Club to beat Kandy Youth Cricket Club on first innings by 63 runs in their inter-club Sara Trophy tournament cricket match worked off at Dambulla.

Moratuwa SC batting first declared at 340 for 7 with Chatura Hemakumara and Hasitha Lanka scoring 56 and unbeaten 50 runs respectively. Chatura Kumarasiri was the most successful bowler for the homesters with 3 for 118.

In reply Kandy YCC too came closer to the target and were all out for 277 with Chaminda Abeykoon making 142 runs with twenty one hits to the rope and two over which consisted 152 balls and 162 minutes. Sidath Vimukthi claimed 4 for 32 for the visitors.

Moratuwa SC - 340/7 decl. - Indika Massalage 28, Chatura Hemakumara 56, Kavindu Ashan 24, Hashen Ramanayake 101 n/o, Manoj Deshapriya 30, Hasitha Lanka 50 n/o, Chatura Kumarasiri 3/118, Ruwantha Ekanayake 2/43 and 6 for no loss.

Kandy YCC - 277 - Chandima Abeykoon 142, Chatura Kumarasiri 44, Aruna Bandara 32, Sidath Vimukthi 4/32, Manoj Deshapriya 2/43.
