The VLN aims at establishing an online facility to conduct training
programmes and seminars for public officers across the country with the
participation of other interest groups in the society.
The new methodology introduced for the first time in Sri Lanka for
public officers, will increase and enhance their capability and support
them to become confident users of video conferencing and other
communication technologies.
Speaking at the occasion, Weeratunga said it is important to provide
an equal opportunity for public servants to enhance their knowledge
through the use of modern technology.
They will be able to keep abreast with the global information flow
and develop their inter-personal skills by using this modern method, he
said. Weeratunga said this initiative will be a launching pad for
government officials to acquire knowledge and skills that are suitable
for today's fast growing world.
Inaugurating the new technique, public officers from Badulla,
Kurunegala, Jaffna, Matara, Kilinochchi and Vavuniya interacted with the
Secretary via video conferencing at the SLIDA auditorium. |
