Two persons died when a bus plunged
down a 50 feet slope on Nanuoya-Radella byroad due to a
technical fault yesterday. The mishap occurred when a bus
carrying a group of 30 from Meepilipana in Nuwara Eliya were
on their way on a pilgrimage to Siripada. The bus
had broken down on the way and the bus owner arranged
another bus to transport the pilgrims. This bus, returning
following repairs, were carrying the pilgrims, when it
plunged down the slope. |
