Methodist High School which had a long history in cricket could not
field a first eleven cricket team due to various reasons.
In 1999 cricket was revived under Hemachandra Perera who himself an
old boy for the age groups of under 13, 15 and 17 in division three
tournaments conducted by the schools cricket association.
This year under the guidance of the present principal S D S Mendis
they have arranged a Big Match against Shastrananda Vidyalaya, Dehiwala
and the encounter will be worked off on 14th and 15th March 2013 at
Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa.
