Promoting religious unity

The annual cultural festival themed Pansalai - Palliyayi, Sinhala ha Damila Aluth Avuruddai, organised by the Christian Religious Unit of the Presidential Secretariat for the stabilization of national and religious unity will be held this year on April 27 at the Dorawaka Sri Seelawimala Maha Pirivena premises.

Rev Sarath Hettiarachchi and Ven Nalaka thera of the Sri Seelawimala viharaya will preside.

Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga will be the chief guest.

The main objective of this festival is to create integration in place of disintegration by sharing the cultural heritage with each other and make an active contribution towards the development drive launched by the President and the government, said Rev Sarath Hettiarachchi.

It will also feature rare Sri Lankan folk games, songs and Sinhala and Hindu New Year games to bequeath them to the future generation. The organisation requests people of all communities to attend this festival to help make it a success.
