Principal, students attacked by wasps

The Principal and 38 students of Mirissagala Primary School in Rideegama were hospitalised after they were attacked by wasps at the school premises on Tuesday morning.

Thirty two among them, including the Principal were discharged after initial treatment while six students are still being treated at the Ankumbura hospital. Meanwhile, a 15 - year - old student drowned while bathing at Welhengoda beach in Ahangama on Tuesday afternoon.

The vicitim is R A R Shiran Rashminda of Viskam Mawatha , Ahangama.

The body was sent to the Karapitiya Hospital morgue for a post - mortem.
