HSBC Colombo Fashion Week 2013 in April

The tenth edition of Sri Lanka’s much looked forward to fashion event, HSBC Colombo Fashion Week 2013 is planned for April 3, 4 and 5 at the Hilton Colombo.

This is a high profile event in the local fashion itinerary and will showcase appealing collections of talented designers both home and abroad on the ramp.Since its inception in 2003, the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week has grown in leaps and bounds and has become a leading event in the Lankan fashion design industry. This event has really helped Sri Lankan designers make a mark on the international fashion scene and has created a lot of commercial opportunities for local fashion labels and designers.

HSBC Colombo Fashion Week 2013, President Ajai V. Singh addressing the media said HSBC fashion week 2013, hosted by the Colombo Hilton will see the participation of 30 designers, including 10 leading designers from eight countries and 20 local designers. Among them,there will be two young Sri Lankan designers who are taking the world of fashion by storm in the US, Nishantha de Gruiter whose label Suitsupply has been the rage in Wall Street for the last two years. GQ’s favourite Nish partners Suitsupply, one of Europe’s trendiest clothing stores for dapper gentleman that’s taking over America, state by state. The other is Radhika Perera-Hernandez, British born is the creator of the brand ‘Lois London’ renowned for its mesmerizing kaftans and swimwear.

Singh also remarked that this year HSBC Colombo Fashion Week pays tribute to the next generation of designers, saluting them, supporting them, and also paying tribute to their mentors; their pillars of inspiration.

This year HSBC Colombo Fashion Week has collaborated with Colombo Jewellery Stores, Great Colombo Fashion Company, HSBC, British Council , Dulux, Sap Ceylon, Frontier Automotive, Hilton Colombo, P & G, Avirate, Krrish Group and other leading organizations.
