Nuwan selected to represent Sri Lanka at Young Lotus Marketer

Nuwan Rathnayaka, Asst. Brand Manager, Elephant House Sausages, was
adjudged winner of the recently concluded Young Lotus Marketer Workshop
2013 Sri Lanka, organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM)
and the Accredited Advertising Agencies Association (4A's). He will
represent Sri Lanka at the inaugural Young Lotus Marketer Workshop
scheduled to be held in March as part of the Asia Pacific Advertising
Festival 2013 (ADFEST) in Pattaya, Thailand. Pramyth Abeyesekara Asst.
Brand Manager, Keells Food Products and Ruvindhu Gunaratne, Brand
Manager, Luxury Brands of Lion Brewery PLC, were adjudged first and
second runners-up respectively.
Chalaka Gajabahu, President 4A's said, "We at the 4A's are very happy
with how the Young Lotus competition panned out this year. Combining
both a well-respected judging panel and versatile talent pool of young
marketers, there was no doubt from the outset, that this was going to be
a highly creative contest. I would also like to congratulate Nuwan for
taking part and excelling in this tough category, also noteworthy
because it was against many of his talented colleagues. It was a good
showing and worthy of his next opportunity, the creative melting pot
known as AdFest."
The competitors were required to prepare a marketing communications
brief and make a presentation to the panel of judges which comprised of
Hasrath Munasinghe, DGM, Commercial Bank, Thushara Perera, Immediate
Past President SLIM and Director Marketing Derana TV, Ms. Alyna Omar
Haji, CEO Response Marketing, Ms. Varuni Amunugama Fernando, Joint
Managing Director, Triad and Michael Holsinger, CEO, Starcom.
Speaking about his win, Nuwan said, "I am delighted to have been
selected to participate in the Young Lotus Marketer Workshop and
consider it a great honour to represent my country at an international
platform. It is very exciting to be a part of the inaugural session and
I am certain that this experience would be a milestone in my career."
The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop 2013, will take place over three
days and will be hosted by Leo Burnett Asia Pacific. Attendees would be
coached, briefed and given an assignment to be completed within a period
of 24 hours, which would then be judged and a winner selected.
The workshop is expected to create an environment that allows young
blood in Asia to develop skills and learn from seasoned marketers to
sharpen their talents, so that they can compete amongst themselves in
the lively atmosphere of ADFEST. |
