Nine Judge Bench to hear FR application regarding PSC

A nine Judge Bench of the Supreme Court will sit today in respect of two Fundamental Rights applications in connection with the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to to probe the conduct of former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake while in the office of the Chief Justice.

The petition from an intervenient applicant, an Attorney at Law which was refused by the Court of Appeal is also to be considered.

The Bench consists of Justice Shirani Thilekawardana, Justice Nimal Gamini Ameratunge, Justice P.A. Ratnayake PC, Justice Sathya Hettige PC, Justice S. Maharoof PC, Justice K. Sri Pavan, Justice Eva Wanasundera PC, Justice Chandra Ekanayake and Justice Priyasath Dep.
