Hashan and Roshan steer Gurukula against formidable Zahirians

An unbeaten sparkling 118 runs by opener Hashan Dumindu which included fourteen fours facing 186 balls and occupying the crease for 230 minutes and associating an unbroken third wicket partnership of 119 runs with Roshan Anuruddha 70 with five hits to the rope and three over enable Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya to gain a first innings win on day one itself in their inter-school under 19 tournament cricket match against formidable Zahira College, Colombo played at Moratuwa. So far Gurukula has recorded seven first innings wins and one outright in the ongoing cricket season.

Batting first Zahira College collapsed for a paltry 109 runs with Janith Pramod and Nalin Perera claiming 4 for 16 and 3 for 33 respectively. Nizki Ahmed top scored for the homesters with 44 runs.
