The Navy rescued an injured fisherman in the Eastern seas last week.
He was brought to the Trincomalee Naval Hospital for medical treatment.
The fisherman had been among a six member crew of a multi-day fishing
trawler named Blue Ocean 3 which left the Galle Harbour last week.
Navy sources said the fisherman's eyes had been injured following an
explosion aboard the craft.
The Navy was informed about the incident by Fisheries and Aquatic
Resources Ministry sources in response to a request by the boat owner.
The fisherman was brought ashore and after initial treatment, he was
sent to the Trincomalee General Hospital for further treatment, the
sources said. |
