Minister Lakshman Yapa felicitated in Matara

"Without the firm and commited determination of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, we would not have been able to end the war which prevailed in our country for nearly 30 years" said Investment Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena at a ceremony held at the historic Matara Bodhiya. The minister was warmly welcomed and escorted to the historic Bodhiya at a ceremony organized by the Lakshman Yapa Foundation.

A Bodhi pooja was held to invoke blessings on him. The Rohana Chapter Mahanayake Rev. Gombaddala Nandarama, Rev. Godagama Chulalankara Nayaka Thera and several Nayaka Theras were present at the occasion. Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said, "I had firm trust and faith in my voters. I have also advised my staff to trust the voters and work for them. "I joined the government at the time of need. The President appointed me to this portfolio and I will definitely uphold the trust the President placed in me", the minister said. M.M.C. Matara Municipal Council Chathura Karunaratne said that the service that minister Lakshman Yapa had rendered to the Matara District was splendid.
