Renovated Housing Scheme opens today

The Thimbirigasyaya Housing Scheme renovated after 52 years, will be
vested with the public today.
The housing scheme was renovated under the Nagamu Purawara programme
of the Mahinda Chinthanaya Forward Vision.
The handing over ceremony will be held under the patronage of
Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
Minister Wimal Weerawansa. Under the first phase of the project, 80
houses of Thimbirigasyaya Housing Scheme were constructed in 1960 while
41 houses were constructed in 1973 as the second phase of the project.
The housing scheme consists of 121 houses.
Renovation was carried out by the Condominium Management Authority.
The rehabilitation cost Rs 15 million. The newly built library and an
office building will also be handed over to the public.
The project cost Rs.3.5 million. Construction, Engineering Services,
Housing and Common Amenities Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna,
Ministry Secretary P H L Wimalasiri Perera and Condominium Management
Authority chairman Kapila Gamage will also participate in the opening. |
