HDFC wins ACCA Sustainability Reporting Award - 2012

HDFC Bank won the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Sustainability Reporting Award 2012 for the 3rd consecutive year at a
gala ceremony held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel Colombo on February 20.
The award ceremony was organized by ACCA. The ACCA Sustainability
Reporting Award has been kept at the apex of the most recognized
corporate recognition schemes in the world, especially in the growing
field of sustainability reporting and disclosure. HDFC is the first bank
to achieve this prestigious award in the same category in succession for
the last three years .
The ACCA Sustainability Reporting awards secured consecutively by
HDFC Bank during years 2009, 2010 and 2011 bear witness of its reward
winning performance in high standards of socio-economic guidelines
followed by the bank. These awards received also tend to subtly spell
out the direction the bank has laid for its future performance. HDFC
Bank’s breakthrough publishing its first ever GRI complied integrated
Annual Report in the banking industry showcases a clear vision of the
bank’s overall performance to all stake holders.
The bank successfully presented its sustainability report in the
Bank's Annual Report for 2011with anintegrated view of the company’s
performance from financial, economic, social and environmental facets.
HDFC Bank has greatly contributed towards empowering socio-economic
standards of rural and low income masses, greatly assisting to improve
their quality of life by cascading the hope of permanent shelter through
housing finance.
With its dedicated commitment towards sustainability practices over
the years, HDFC Bank has initiated its Sustainability Reporting System
during 2006 to quantify, monitor and harness sustainability practices in
its operations. HDFC has gradually integrated sustainability practices
with its business strategy and daily operations. The bank’s Annual
Report for 2011 is considered to be an important tool of communicating
the Triple Bottom Line performance of the bank. HDFC further endures to
improve reporting standards with the internationally accepted guidelines
in Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI). |
