Maliyadeva Vice Captain Rasanjana Jayarathne and spinner Kusal de
Silva scored 71 runs and 83 runs respectively and S Dassanayake bagged 6
for 38 to help Devans to record a 1st innings win over Dharmaraja
College, Kandy in their under-19 division one cricket tournament match
played at Maliyadeva grounds yesterday.
The home team scored 273 batting first and the visitors struggled
face the Maliyadeva bowling attack. Dharmaraja batsmen were all out for
a mere 102 with s Dassanayake taking 6 for 38. Damith Silva took 3 for
25. Rajans were 38 for 6 when the match was call off due to the bad
weather conditions.
Maliyadeva: 273 for seven declared (Rasanjana Jayarathne 71
not out, Kusal de Silva 83, Charith Rathnayake 35, S. Dassanayake 25,
Minod Ranasinghe 27, Lakshan Silva 4/67).
