Prathibehe Dekma documentary film festival

The Prathibehe Dekma documentary film festival, organised by the Government Information Department Film Unit will be held at the New Auditorium of the Centre for Media Development, Department of Government Information from February 20 to 23.

The Inaugural Ceremony will be held on February 20 at 4 pm under the patronage of Mass Media and Information Minister Dr Keheliya Rambukwella. About 40 renowned films produced by the Government Film Unit are scheduled to be screened at this festival. The audience will be able to view a number of important and historically valuable films on this occasion.

Prathibehe Dekma, a book that includes the history of the Government Film Unit will also be launched at the inaugural ceremony. It includes facts about documentary films produces by the Government Film Unit, general article on the Documentary Film, articles on artistes who made a special contribution to the Government Film Unit and an Index of documentary films produced by the Government Film Unit until now. The Government Film Unit informed that the public can view this Film Festival free of charge from February 20 to 23 at 4 pm.
