College of Chemical Sciences holds annual Convocation

Dr Kingsley de Alwis, Current President of the National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka and President Elect of the Science Council of Asia will be the Chief Guest at the ninth annual Convocation of the College of Chemical Sciences to be held at Waters Edge, Capital City on February 21.

The College of Chemical Sciences, which is the educational arm of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon and is completing four decades of formal tertiary education in Chemistry in Sri Lanka, is now producing nearly 50% of Sri Lanka's Graduate Chemists and is the only producer of Chemistry Technicians in the country.

The Honorary Rector of the College , Professor J N Oleap Fernando, states in a media release that in recognition of the tremendous contribution made by Dr de Alwis through his indefatigable services to the Land Use Division in the Agriculture and Irrigation Departments.
