Pedro Estate sets an all time record price

Pedro Estate situated in Nuwara Eliya, has established an all time record price at this week's tea auction held on February 13, 2013 by securing an attractive price of Rs 1,000 per kilo for a liquoring OP grade selling under the “Lovers Leap” mark. Pedro Estate is renown for producing teas with delicate liquoring characteristics which are sought after by buyers from Japan and Europe.

This line was purchased by M/s Mabroc Teas Pvt Ltd. Pedro Estate is managed by Kelani Valley Plantations PLC. This line of tea was sold by Tea brokers M/s John Keells PLC. Carolina Estate situated in Watawala has established an all time record price at this week's tea auction held on February 13, 2013 by securing an attractive price of Rs 435 per kilo for a BPS grade selling under the Carolina mark.

Carolina has a state of the art, CTC factory producing some of the much sought after Medium grade CTC teas.

This mark has been fetching top prices on a consistent basis at the Colombo Auctions. This line was purchased by M/s Akbar Brothers.
