RDB targets one mn Divinaguma accounts

Regional Development Bank, Sri Lanka’s official bank for Divinaguma has set a target of opening one million Divinaguma accounts across the country before the end of 2013.

RDB, Chairperson Keshala Jayawardana in an interview with Daily News Business said RDB has succeeded in opening 300,000 new Divinaguma bank accounts within one years time and measures have been taken to open another 700,000 Divinaguma accounts across the country within this year.

It is heartening to note that a large number of small and middle scale entrepreneurs have opened Divinaguma accounts with us and all the money deposited by account holders will be utilized for the upliftment of the rural community.

Divinaguma bank accounts holders are entitled to enjoy a number of privileges being a part of this account scheme and anyone who aspires to become a part of this project can open an account in any RDB Branch location.

Regional Development Banks have established over 5.2 million loyal customer base and 262 service points and given employment to around 3,000 staff members.
