The case filed against the 13-years-old school
girl for robbing to raise Rs. 800 towards colour washing of her
school building was withdrawn yesterday before Horana Magistrate,
Mahinda Ranasingha. Complainant Karannagodage Chandrasena filed a
motion withdrawing the case, releasing the student from the charges

Arrested while digging for artifacts
Seven suspects were arrested by the Teldeniya
Police while they were digging for treasure in a land in

Farmer electrocuted
A man died of electrocution while another was
hospitalized after touching an electrically charged fence bordering
a paddy field in Paradalgama, Hambegamuwa on Sunday. It was revealed
that electricity had leaked into the fence from an illegal
electricity installation.
