"Maliban Goodness Spread is the only margarine in the market that contains vitamins A, D and E as well as Omega 6 and 9. As customers get educated day by day, they are on the lookout for good nutrition and Maliban is ready to move on with the changing environment," he said.

According to Jayawardena, the product is highly commendable to health conscious customers. While it is manufactured and produced in Malaysia, it is customized to suit the needs of the Sri Lankan market.

The product which is being available in 235 grams, comes in a reusable plastic container, while the product has been priced at the range of Rs. 240 and 250. It caters to young adults and will be in stores now onwards.

Jayawardena also said that this was one of the the first of many ventures yet to be marketed and that they hoped to unveil the next product along with Mewah Group of Singapore within a period of three months. According to Jayawardena, the other ventures to be marketed would be based on diary and agriculture.

Speaking to Cheo Ming You, Director of MOI International, a subsidiary of Mewah Group Singapore, he said that it was a privilege to work with Maliban, as both had a mutual agreement on quality standards and looked forward to working with Maliban in the near future.

"It is a marriage between our two companies. We help Maliban manufacture and pack the products to be distributed in the Sri Lankan market. So what basically happens is that Maliban out source the product after forming the recipe, of course we quality check the final product before we send it to Sri Lanka as the speciality about this margarine is that it is up to Malaysian quality standards."
