‘Prophet Mohammed revolutionized world order’
The Prophet of Islam brought about revolutionary changes to the
social system, establishing human dignity and honour, said Urban Affairs
Senior Minister AHM Fowzie issuing a message to mark Prophet Mohammed’s
birthday.

The message: “The proper manner of celebrating the birth of the
messenger of Allah is to uphold the message brought by him and to
practice it in our daily life.
“The essence of his teachings is peace and peaceful co- existence.
His teachings were aimed at liberating the masses from their sufferings
and to guide them to lead peaceful life. It is therefore, a duty of
every Muslim to do his best to establish peace among people of our
country. The birth of Prophet Mohammed brought about a change in social
structure, establishing human dignity and honour.
“His teachings were aimed at liberating the masses from their
sufferings and guiding them to lead peaceful life.
“At a time countries are faced with economical and political crisis,
leading to war situations, massacring of people, the message of peace as
emphasized in the teachings of the Prophet become relevant.
“We must be happy that we in Sri Lanka have been able to maintain
social harmony with our brother communities overcoming trivial friction
by adopting tolerance, human love and brotherhood.
“We, as a community ever inclined to seek peace and prosperity for
our country, should be happy that President Mahinda Rajapaksa has taken
measures to end the half a century old discords among different
communities and to carry forward the country to attain lasting peace and
prosperity.” |
