RMV charges on small lorries reduced

Transport Minister Kumara Welgama yesterday stated that the government has decided to reduce the charge of Rs. 25,000 charged by the RMV on putting up full body to small lorries to Rs. 500 to provide relief to the small scale businessmen.

He made this observation at Parliament during the debate on the regulations under the Motor Traffic Act.
He stated that the Gazette to this effect will be published in future.

He stated that this move was taken on the directions made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to encourage the small scale businessmen.
