Man robbed money to repay loans

Galle Police who carried out investigations into a complaint made by the manager of a mega trade centre in Galle arrested a person for the alleged theft of Rs 500,000.

The suspect, a father five, who had reportedly entered through a half opened window and secretly waited till the close of the trade centre for the day, had committed the theft, the Police said.

The suspect had confessed that he stole the money to settle a loan he had taken from neighbours.

Police investigations revealed he had repaid some of his loans.
