Red Cross help for flood-hit

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) provided Rs 21 million as
funds to help people affected by the recent floods with immediate
effect, Deputy Director General Sudath Madugalla said.
He said under this programme, they provided essential items as well
as sanitary sets, mats, huts and mobile toilet systems through their Red
Cross Net Work and volunteers.
Madugalla said assistance came as a part of the joint programme with
the Disaster Management Ministry.
The SLRCS also provided boat services, first aid and accommodation
for people affected by floods and other natural disasters, he said. |
