Cloudy skies, wet weather in most parts

Cloudy skies and showery weather can be expected over most parts of the island due to the atmospheric disturbances in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the Department of Meteorology said yesterday.

There will be showers or thundershowers at times with heavy rainfall at certain places in the Eastern, Central, Uva and North-Central provinces. There may be temporary localised fairly strong winds during thundershowers.

The public are requested to take adequate precautions to minimise the damage caused by lightening . There will be showers or thundershowers at times off the Eastern, and South-Eastern coasts and seas may be rough at times.
