Motorcycle theft case: teen released on bail

A teenager who allegedly robbed a motorcycle valued at nearly Rs
100,000 was ordered to be released on bail by Matugama Additional
Magistrate Lanka Nilupuli.
The 15-year-old has already left school. It was also revealed that he
was ordained as a samanera at the age of six and had later disrobed. The
motorcycle was owned by a person in Galahena Watta area and he had come
to watch a musical show in Bulathsinhala.
The robbery took place at the venue of the musical show. The suspect
had hidden the motorcycle inside his house at Kobawaka, Gowinna,
Udumulla Watta.
The suspect upon interrogation had revealed that he had a fancy for
motorcycles and this was the reason he robbed it. The raid was carried
out by the OIC, Kalutara Division, Western Province Intelligence
Division, Nalaka P. Sumanarathna and a team.
