‘Muthu Ahura’, a new monthly magazine
for Grade One students introduced by Associated Newspapers
of Ceylon Ltd was launched at a ceremony held at Lake House
Colombo yesterday. Here, Lake House Chairman and Managing
Director Bandula Padmakumara presenting the first copy of
the magazine to Ven Vithaarandeniye Medhananda Thera.

A colourful ceremony was organised to
welcome the new Grade One entrants to Ananda College,
Colombo recently. Here, young students escort Chief Guest
Finance and Planning Deputy Minister Geethanjana Gunawardena
who is an old boy, to the Kularatne Hall where the ceremony
was held. Principal L. M. D. Dharmasena, Deputy Principal W.
M. P. K. Mahamithawa, Deputy Principal and Primary Section
Head Seetha Kulatunga, officials of the Old Boys Association

The Jaya Keheliya Foundation set up
by Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella
distributed a stock of free school books among a selected
group of students, including those in G C E Ordinary Level
and Advanced Level classes at a ceremony at the Menikhinna
Co-operative Cultural Centre. Here Mrs Kusum Rambukwella
